while I'm at it, I'd also want to get your defense stat bonus into trinkets as well since yours scales over the original skulls and isn't just a set number.

but that's just me being nit-picky, no harm in asking though.
Ohhh I see what you mean. You want to put gems in jewelry to equip on your pet. Hmmmm, that is a good point, I had forgotten that you can do that. I'll try to think of something.

I do have plans to release Unique gems later on with my Evolved Items overhaul that will have a randomized stat and can be placed in any socket. :new-wink:

Well I'm not sure what you mean here, but the power of each gem is based on its level, ranging from 3 (for Cracked Ore) all the way up to 1000 (for Dazzling Star). The percentages simply range from 1% up to 50% in a fairly linear fashion.

I guess those are from another mod then. Still, there shouldn't be any confliction between those, and my gems. They should be completely separate.

What other gem mod(s) do you have installed?

to be clearer, since your gems go through 5 different evolutions to get to the maximum of star, when you were creating the mod did you have set character levels in mind for when each higher evolution "should" be used.

or am I just missing the obvious, level 1000 divided by 5 = a new gem level every 200 levels (or 99/5 = every 20 levels).

It's a gradual progression, but it isn't so precise as that. Here is the actual progression of the grades that I used, level by level:
    Code:
    3, 8, 16, 24, 32, 40, (every 8 levels, minus the first one)
    50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, (every 10 levels)
    120, 140, 160, 180, 200, 220, (every 20 levels)
    240, 300, 360, 420, 480, 540, (every 60 levels)
    600, 680, 760, 840, 920, 1000 (every 80 levels)
I might adjust this slightly at a later point, but it's what I'm using for now.

My item tier progression for Evolved Items will probably be similar.

ya I was basing my math on the full dazzling gems rather than the individual gems that progress into them, thanks for the breakdown.

Gales gem overhaul is going to give you issues when used along side this mod. It's best to not use more than one mod that affects the same thing unless you know enough about both mods that you can tweak them and make them work together. You're going to have to remove either one or the other mod. Personally, I liked this mod better.

I've been using this mod for a few days now. So far, I really like it. While Gales mod is great, this one is a lot less of a headache and a lot more fun. Gems feel a lot more useful early on, i'm not hoarding them as much.

I'll continue to give feedback as I go along.

Re: New File Added: Evolved Ember

Thanks for the analysis Zidders! I'm looking into Gale's Gem Mod some and I like some aspects of it. I would like to make it to where my mod will be compatible with Gale's, since they each have a different approach to socketing. We'll see, it's something I'll look into in the near future, when I have time.

Also, here is a sneak peak of Evolved Ember v1.1 for anyone interested:

The only bonus that has seemed off to me was the Movement Speed applied to Diamond gems in Trinkets. This still seems too powerful a bonus to be provided by gems, so I am switching a couple things around and essentially replacing it with % Fame Gain, which will become very useful with the debut of Evolved Evil, which will make leveling up your Fame much more of a challenge at higher levels.

I will also be removing over 200 of the Gem Affix Files included in v1.0, since I have learned more effective ways to create affixes in my dealings with Graphs and Skills, and they will no longer be needed!

along with this gem mod, I also have the milestones gem mod and so far they haven't caused an issue together. the milestone gems have an incredibly small drop rate though, the only one I have yet to find was in a drop after I beat a boss in the black palace.

Hi DoctorT. I made this icon pack for your evolved embers mod for my personal use, but I'd like to offer it to you (and the community) in case you'd like to use it for your mod.
